The business was founded in the Southwest in 1961 – Robert Charles is the son of the founder. Over the years, we have had showrooms and manufacturing facilities in and around Exeter and Taunton, and moved in 2008 to our newly fitted-out single-site showroom, offices and modern workshops in Galmington, Taunton.
In an age of instant gratification, flat-pack furniture and “here today, gone tomorrow” retailers, we feel we can put down our longevity to an alternative, perhaps more old-fashioned, approach.
We treat every customer’s project individually, taking the time and care to design from first principles the very best solution to meet the brief. We build the furniture painstakingly by hand in our own workshops in Somerset. And finally, our craftsmen install the finished product, meticulously following the designer’s plans yet accommodating the unique requirements of each customer’s home.
Through this combination of passionate commitment to excellence and attention to detail, we have been proud to create some of the most beautiful home interiors in the country.
